Michael Kamis, B.Sc., P.Eng.

President & CEO

Michael has in excess of 45 years of energy related experience both domestically and internationally. He is a graduate in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Wyoming, USA. After starting his career working both onshore and offshore, up and down the coast of west Africa, he came back to North America to work with a major oil and gas company in Canada. He started in the production section, then moved into the reservoir engineering department responsible for the companies’ asset valuations and developing new projects. After leaving the major company, Michael has worked on many energy related projects in over 40 different countries. The projects ranged from drilling and production projects in North America, to co-gen energy generation projects in Canada, the Caribbean and Central Asia. In addition, he has managed assets involving both conventional and unconventional resources

Brian A. Hepp, B.Sc. P. Eng., C.Eng., Eur.Ing.

Technical Advisor Processing & Facilities

Brian is an innovative and solution-oriented process and project professional with 40 years of technical and management experience in brownfield and greenfield assets, field debottlenecking, preventative maintenance, personnel management, field optimization and integration of new technology. He is experienced in engagement with stakeholders and special interest groups, creation of training programmes and development of skills to provide long term support of all upstream activities for full cycle oil and gas exploration.

Dr. Roy E. Smith, Ph.D. Geology

Professional Geologist

Roy is a graduate of Oregon State University in USA and has in excess of 40 years experience in developing oil and gas prospects in Western Canada. He has authored and co-authored a number of papers presented in the Journal of Paleontology and Canadian Society of Petroleum Geologists. He has had experience in building results-oriented teams of professionals for junior and intermediate sized companies.

Peter Weichler, MBA., FICB

Director of Finance

Peter’s background in business finance includes commercial banking, stock brokerage, investor relations and investment banking with leading Canadian National firms. He has experience as a corporate Director, Manager and Advisor with both private and public firms. He is well versed in raising capital for emerging and entrepreneurial public companies.

Dr. Patricia A. Ferris, MSW, RCSW, MSc., Ph.D.

First Nations & HR Coordinator

Patricia has provided safety consultation, training and incident response to organizations for 30 years. She has assisted organizations in developing safety cultures that focus on both physical and psychological safety through team development, conflict resolution and the selection of employees motivated to work with compliance regulations. Patricia has developed employee wellness programs that have won awards. She has also worked with Indigenous Bands centered around healing past trauma.

Jason A. Kellock, B.Sc., P.Eng.

Geological Engineer

Jason is a Professional Engineer and Team Leader with over 20 years of experience in land development, civil and municipal infrastructure and midstream energy pipeline and facility projects. Jason has successfully led projects and programs valued at up to $1.8B as an individual contributor and as a Team Leader. He has successfully managed challenging regulatory environments and seasonally constrained projects. He has coordinated efforts to engage local and Indigenous businesses and local hiring efforts in support of major capital programs. Jason has also led business process review, cost optimization and change management projects.

Abe Saad, MSc Chemistry

Chemical Engineer

Abe has extensive knowledge of oilfield chemistry with over 40 years of experience in research and development of products for both hydrocarbon and water treatment for oilfield applications. Abe developed and executed soil remediation and oil spill recovery using the first ever biosurfactant application approved by the Department of Environment in Malaysia. He was responsible for managing both operations and R&D labs and developed various products for well stimulation and produced water treatment. Abe developed and performed sludge recovery and chemical cleaning programs for Indonesia’s largest oil refinery.

Jay Scott

Drilling & Completions

Jay is a Field Operations Coordinator with experience trouble shooting and well testing deep gas wells with high pressure and hydrate accumulation. He specializes in well test summary reporting determining safe oil and gas flow conditions, application of down hole choke to minimize well head gathering pressure and trouble free well flow. Jay has set up both short-term and long-term operational objectives and requirements and optimized existing wells and facilities. He has provided leadership in areas of safety, asset growth, economical reserves exploitation and well by well analysis. Jay has worked internationally for Germany, Libya, Yemen, Russia, Turkmenistan, Turkey, New Zealand and Canada.
